Creative Critical Reflection 4

We integrated technologies because our film was based around stop motion. We used a Canon camera as a prop for a large portion of our film. As the film is based on the life of a film maker, nearly the whole project is related to technology. Technology is a very big part of day to day modern life. In our film, you can see that it is an especially big part of our character's day to day life. Without computers, cameras, and other pieces of technology, Smith's job wouldn't be able to be done. In this way, we portrayed the way that most people nowadays need technology to do their jobs.

Our production skills developed throughout this project because we found as we worked that the more we thought out everything we did, the smoother the production ran. Writing a script before shooting, picking our location, and getting equipment before getting to our location helped us learn a lot about preparation. During the actual shooting of our film, we learned that the final product doesn't always come out exactly the way you want, or as fast as you want.  We figured out quickly that the time and effort we put in changed how our product would turn out.

Our product engages with audiences by providing an emotional connection or ability to relate to the everyday struggles of the working man. When most people grow up, they typically work around 9-5 Monday through Friday, with not much time off. Seeing a film that's shows the stress of a job can promote provides a sort of comforting feeling for the audience. In our film the character undergoes stress until he finally has a breakdown. To distribute our film, we would release it in theaters, with trailers and teasers up to a year prior to the actual release. If it does well in theaters, we would then release DVD's and work on getting the film on Netflix.

Creative Critical Reflection 1

Our product represents a social group of the struggling artist. The working adult and the hardships they face are represented in a comical way. In our film, we intended to capture the reality of an artist's life, and giving a look behind the camera of the process that stop motion undergoes. The meaning behind our project goes deeper than the way that we represented it in , which was in a happy light. As well as this, it represents the large group of individuals that suffer from stress and anxiety. In the film you can see Silas Smith getting more and more frustrated as little things keep happening to him. By the end, he finally breaks in a fit of anger. Nearly everyone in the world suffers from anxiety, whether it be once in a blue moon or everyday of their life. Everyone sees the behind the scenes of actors in films, but never the people that actually create it and make the final product happen. We wanted to represent people in our film that have really never been thought about or...
