In the video we made, we wanted to keep the dialogue relatively moderate. Although, when filming, we found that the more dialogue we added, the clearer the picture became.
(office ambiance music plays until phone rings)
Silas: Not again.
(Silas picks up phone)
Silas: Boss, I've been at it for three months and the budget has been cut twice. I'm almost ready to quit.
(Silas goes on computer)
Silas: Where's the file? Where's the file?
(clicking consistently on computer keys)
Silas: I hate this job Gerald.
(throws phone at side of couch and then picks it up to see cracked screen)
Silas: Darn it, third cracked screen of the month.
(Dog runs up to work area and swipes paw across table, throwing artwork)
Silas: Are you kidding me Zeus?
( shoves dog and cuts to close up of dog and Silas with dramatic music)
Silas: Get down!
( door slams in distance and Silas' wife walks in yelling)
Silas' Wife: Silas the bills aren't paid what are you doing? Where is the money going? What are you spending it on? You're not making any money here. What have you been doing here for a month now?
cuts to close up of Silas and Silas' wife slaps him)
Silas: What was that for?
(Silas knocks over cup of water on desk)
Silas: All my papers are ruined!
(picks up artwork)
Silas: Oh my goodness everything I've worked for is ruined now!
(Montage of Silas ruining work, flashes Motionless title, cuts to Silas ripping up name tag)
(screen fades to black)
(credits roll)

Revisions

To improve our film, we could work on steadying the camera in a few shots, instead of re-shooting all of the footage. Other than this, most of our difficulties were in the editing process. At some points, the music in the background cut off too soon or was too loud and drowned out the actor's dialogue. As well as this, we could trim some of the clips just to make the film run smoother.

Target Audience #3: Spiderman:Homecoming

Spider-man: Homecoming was released in 2017, with a pg-13 rating. Although it reached mostly teens, marvel movies are usually loved by all ages. Another wide target audience brought the success of this film. As well as this, the overall appeal of a drama/comedy makes the target audience so wide. Being a Marvel movie, there is a feeling of nostalgia for adults who've seen old Marvel movies, as well as excitement in superhero movies for the younger part of the audience. Overall, Marvel is loved by almost all, so the target audience is wide. In our film, we're going to try to make the film appealing to all like in Spider-man: Homecoming. Lots of posters and billboards were everywhere near the time of this film's release. A lot were showing Spiderman around the city. Some posters had Robert Downery Jr., whom would help contribute to the sales of this movie, as he stared in Iron Man, and is a marvel "avenger".

Casting

Miles Johnson: We chose him to play Silas Smith, a stop-motion artist who's working on a new film. Miles Johnson is best fit for the role because he has natural assets that qualify him for the role and relate to the vision of who we had in mind. He's had acting experience in middle school plays. As this is a scene with very little dialogue, we chose someone who can show emotion and facial expressions well. He also can use body language to portray emotion rather than just through speech. As well as this, he fits the part well physically. He looks the right age for the role (early 20s), and also is the correct height that we're searching for. We decided to only have one character in this because the first two minutes are only showing him trying to film. As it focuses on him, there is no necessity to add extra characters.
